Terms and Conditions

  • Qualifing to use the site
    • In requesting a reservation at Wilverley Scout Campsite you are agreeing to the following:
    • Wilverley can only be used for youth related activities with young people supervised by adults in a ratio which is consistant with those used by The Scout Ascociation or the apropriate relavent youth organisation.
    • To follow and adhere to all the information and rules given in this website and by the booking officer.
  • Booking and payment
    • A non-refundable deposit for buildings and camping sites is set at 50% of total costs which will be required on acceptance of the booking.
    • All deposits must be paid within 14 days of a booking being accepted or the booking will be forfeited.
    • A booking is not secured until a deposit has been recieved.
    • Full payment must be made within 14 days of the invoice being sent by the booking officer.
  • Use of campsite and facilities
    • Open fires are not allowed. The BBQ area can be used by mutual agreement with other site users.
    • Only charcoal can be used on the BBQ. No wood. Charcoal is not provided.
    • The use of the generator must be in accordance with the information provided
    • Water points and the toilet block hand basins are not to be used for washing up, there is a designated washing up area inside the field toilet building. (Between camping areas 1 and 3)
    • Please respect the campsite curfew and ensure all your party are quiet between 2300 hrs (11pm) and 0600 hrs (6am) to ensure other site users are not disturbed. Generators may not be operated during the curfew.
    • The land surrounding the Campsite is on private land, owned by the Forestry Commission and is subject to a set of Byelaws which you must adhere to. (This includes use of drones)
    • Digging and the use of chainsaws are not permitted
    • Firearms are no permitted.
    • Domestic animals are not permitted on the campsite or in the buildings. Assistance s are permitted provided that they are correctly supervised.
  • Damage
    • Any person suspected of causing criminal damage on the premises will be asked to leave the premises forthwith. Damage includes chopping down standing trees and shrubs, even if they appear to be dead.
    • Damage caused or found must be reported to the Camp Site Manager as soon as possible.
    • All damages must be paid for in full.
  • Behaviour
    • All persons and vehicles using the Campsite must obey the instructions provided and others determined by the campsite manager.
    • Persons under the age of 18 years are not permitted to drink alcohol on the premises.
    • Persons over the age of 18 years should also not consume alcohol whe responsible for the duty of care of the children.
    • It is the responsibility of the leader-in-charge of the group to ensure that all persons at the campsite are correctly supervised. When members of a group are undertaking activities at campsite the leader-in-charge must ensure that the pastoral needs of the group are provided for. It is the responsibility of the ‘pastoral carer’ to ensure that members of the group conduct themselves in a safe and proper manner at all times.
  • Vehicles
    • The speed limit for all vehicles on all roads within the inclosure and the access road to the campsite is 15mph.
    • The speed limit for ALL AREAS on the campsite is 5mph. Cars are not permitted on the grassed areas.
    • All tents and vehicles are brought onto the site entirely at the visitor’s risk. The proprietors take no responsibility for any loss or damage to any person, tent or vehicle and their contents.
  • Arrival and departure
    • On arrival your accommodation should be in a clean and tidy condition, if you are not satisfied with the state of the cleanliness you should inform the Camp Site Manager immediately.
    • On departure you should leave your accommodation in a clean and tidy condition. Accommodation requiring further cleaning, after your departure, will attract a cleaning fee. The minimum fee charged is £40.
    • All rubbish is to be removed from the campsite and buildings upon departure.
